HTH 225: Inclusive Classroom

This course offers an exploration of the theory and practice behind inclusive approaches that meet the needs of diverse learners in heterogeneous classrooms. Grounded in a commitment to high standards for all students, participants engage in micro-teaching and consultancies to experiment with differentiation strategies in their own classrooms and schools. Special attention is paid to working and consulting with colleagues in these areas.

ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS

  • How can teachers employ differentiation strategies to provide access, choice, voice, and challenge to all learners, especially those that have been traditionally marginalized?

  • How can teachers engage in open, honest and reflective conversations with colleagues about meeting the needs of all learners?
