A native of Reno, NV I graduated from the University of Nevada Reno with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, Bachelor of Science in Geography and a minor in Latin American Studies. During my sophomore year at UNR I studied abroad in Santiago, Chile where I had two internships that allowed me to further understand the importance equity plays in society. Upon returning, volunteer work in my own community allowed me to see that there is much work to be done to ensure everyone has the same opportunities in life. This eventually led me to teaching with the belief that education is the platform from which a great community starts.

For the past three years I've taught various levels of High School Spanish in Memphis, TN where I fell in love with exposing students to a new language and new cultures. My passions include; all things related to Spanish-speaking, traveling, eating, cooking, exploring the outdoors and new experiences. I'm thrilled to join High Tech High as a graduate student where education is about doing rather than complying and I look forward to all that the staff, parents, students and community have to teach me.
